About Open Door Pub Company
ODPC is primarily composed of boutique and heritage hotels in Melbourne, including a number of iconic properties such as the Geebung Polo Club, College Lawn Hotel and Provincial Hotel. Its ongoing expansion has included the opening of two outlets at the redeveloped Sydney domestic airport and a further two in the redeveloped Sydney international terminal in 2010.
The business challenge
ODPC is a business which is highly distributed, with 20 discrete hospitality outlets managed by professionals who have excellent hospitality and customer service capabilities but often more limited financial management skills. The company’s financial operations therefore need to be centrally managed to ensure appropriate financial disciplines are in place and to maximise efficiencies.
