Microsoft Dynamics NAV Support

With the impending release Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 it is worthwhile reviewing Microsoft’s support policy for older versions.  There have been four major releases of NAV since July 2003 (Navision 3.70, Dynamics NAV 4.0, Dynamics NAV 5.0 and Dynamics NAV 2009).  There have also been several major Service Packs released in this time and many Hotfixes.

Microsoft’s Support Lifecycle Policy (Microsoft Product Lifecycle Support) describes Microsoft’s support policy for its products.

It can be seen that Microsoft support is split into two parts – Mainstream Support and Extended Support. Below are the various differences between the two.

We highly recommend that you upgrade to the latest version of Dynamics NAV prior to (or fairly soon after) your current version moves into Extended Support.

If you wish to discuss upgrading to a more current version of Microsoft Dynamics NAV or have any questions please contact Rubina Usman.
