  CASE STUDIES: Cardinal Health
Cardinal-Health.jpg

"I have never known such a complex IT project to
run so smoothly. We are delighted with the result."

Ronda Jacobs,
General Manger of Cardinal Health

Cardinal Health

Cardinal Health manufactures softgel capsules and tablets for the health care industry. They have been using MANAGE 2000 since 1991, supported by fenwick software since 1995.

In 2004, Fenwick Software undertook a project to upgrade MANAGE 2000 to release 7 and change platform from Unix to NT.

Key modifications in the area of releasing work orders were very specifically tailored to the manufacturing processes from the early 90s. This made incorporating changes in the product range difficult and placed limitations on using some of the standard functionality. So the objective of this project was to eliminate or simplify as many of the existing modifications as possible, making future upgrades to the latest release more feasible.

Coinciding with the upgrade of the MANAGE-2000 software a new bar-coding system was introduced which handles bar-coded transactions in the production area – work in process moves and receipts. This used equipment supplied by Unique Micro Design and the PDE engine developed by Fenwick Software.
